When we asked Danielle Konya, the founder of Vegan Treats Bakery, what pushed her to start one of the first vegan bakeries in the USA, her answer was simple but powerful.
“Honestly? I never set out to open a bakery. I just wanted to save animals. Using dessert as a form of activism wasn’t in my plan—but it worked. Back in the late ’90s, vegan desserts didn’t even exist. People thought you couldn’t bake without eggs or butter. I wanted to prove them wrong.”
